Housing is included in the tuition; students preferring to stay elsewhere will not be offered any reduction in the tuition, and will be expected to provide their own transportation to and from class. There are a number of hotels and bed and breakfasts in the area, but we strongly recommend that students take advantage of the networking opportunity of the Academie house.
It is also possible to fly to Paris and take a separate 2-hour flight to Lyon, or to connect at Charles DeGaulle airport for a high-speed SNCF train direct to Lyon (also about 2 hours). Click here for tips for transfering between terminals at Charles DeGaulle airport. The Lyon airport is Lyon Saint Exupéry (LYS). If arriving by train, we recommend you arrive at the Part-Dieu station in Lyon.
Students must arrive by 11am on Sunday morning prior to the start of their program.
We will refresh you after your journey with a reception at the MonS Fromagerie Lyon, run by Meilleur Ouvrier de France Etienne Boissy. The shop is in the heart of the Halles de Lyon, the central market of this gastronomic capital of France.
The trip to St-Haon-le-Châtel is approximately 90 minutes by car through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Département de Loire.
Lunch (including cheese tasting platter) is included during every working day. A welcome reception (cheese and wine, of course!) greets students upon arrival in Lyon, at the MonS retail store. Dinners and breakfasts are the responsibility of each student, though course excursions will include lunch. Local restaurants include Au Natur'Elles, Auberge du Bon Acceuil, walking distance from the Academie.
